School Results
Dear Parents/Carers, 30th Sept 2022
I wanted to write to you all to share and celebrate our most recent end of KS2 and KS1 SATs results.
As we all know, the last few years have been difficult for pupils, staff and parents as we have all had to navigate between learning in school and also the trials and tribulations of remote learning. This also coincided with our school restructuring its year groups and employing some additional temporary support staff as we strived for our ‘Gold Standard’ of education post lockdowns.
I am really proud and pleased to say, that having now analysed our school data and compared it against Cumbria and National averages, we are above average in ALL areas for pupils achieving expected level (with the exception of KS2 SPAG which was only 1% different)
KS2 based on 17 pupils:
KS2 2022 | |||
| National | Cumbria | Kirkbampton CE Primary |
Reading, Writing and Maths combined | 58.6% | 56.2% | 71% |
Reading | 74.4% | 75.1% | 88% |
Writing | 69.5% | 65% | 76% |
Maths | 71.3% | 68.2% | 82% |
SPAG (Spelling, punctuation and Grammar) | 72.4% | 71.9% | 71% |
KS1 based on 16 pupils:
KS1 2022 | |||
| National | Cumbria | Kirkbampton CE Primary |
Reading, Writing and Maths combined | 53.4% | 49.7% | 63% |
Reading | 66.9% | 64% | 88% |
Writing | 57.6% | 55% | 63% |
Maths | 67.7% | 66.6% | 69% |
The good news also continues in the number of pupils achieving greater depth – particularly in KS2:
KS2 Greater Depth | |||
| National | Cumbria | Kirkbampton CE Primary |
Reading, Writing and Maths Combined | 7% | 4% | 12% |
Reading | 27.8% | 25% | 47% |
Writing | 12.8% | 10% | 18% |
Maths | 22.4% | 15.7% | 29% |
SPAG | 28.2% | 21.3% | 17.6% |
KS1 Greater Depth | |||
| National | Cumbria | Kirkbampton CE Primary |
Reading | 18% | 17% | 13% |
Writing | 8% | 6% | 0% |
Maths | 15% | 13% | 25% |
Moving forwards we want to continue to strive for high standards for all our pupils and we will be paying particular attention to raising the level of attainment in spelling, punctuation and grammar across the school and increasing the number of pupils in KS1 achieving the higher standards in reading and writing.
A huge thank you must go to our staff who have worked tirelessly over the last few challenging years, the governing body for supporting my decisions on the strategic vision for the school, our pupils who have shown resilience through the changing times and to all our parents/carers who support us and engage with us to enable our pupils to flourish.
Onwards and upwards!
Best wishes
Mrs Armstrong
