School Vision and Values

VISION

Giving our children opportunities to be the best they can be.

School Mission and Aims

The staff and Governors work together in partnership with parents to create a secure, stimulating and welcoming school environment where pupils are encouraged to:

  • Develop a sense of moral values, spiritual and cultural awareness and respect of all people and property through the practice of our Christian values including of grace, gentleness and patience
  • Develop an understanding of the Christian foundation of the school and what Christians mean by having faith in Jesus
  • Follow Jesus’ example of showing a caring attitude towards others, exploring ways of helping our neighbours, both in the local community and the wider world
  • Develop imagination, enthusiasm and co-operation
  • Acquire the basic tools of learning – Numeracy, literacy, speaking and listening
  • Become secure, independent, self-confident, self-motivated and self-disciplined learners
  • Recognise improvement in themselves and in others
  • Value quality of work

Our school seeks to provide:

  • An educational experience of the highest standards and quality
  • A challenging, lively and stimulating environment
  • A solid foundation of skills and sound preparation for each pupil’s next stage of education

The staff and Governors of the school intend that every pupil will have equal opportunity to achieve their maximum potential through:

  • A broad, balanced curriculum appropriate to children in the Early Years Foundation Stage and in Key Stages 1 and 2
  • The enjoyment of learning

This provides the framework within which we provide for the spiritual, moral social and cultural development of our pupils.

The five British Values are:

  • Democracy
  • The Rule of Law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance of Faiths and Beliefs

Promoting these values is a central part of teaching and learning. We aim to help children become well-rounded members of the society. The values are promoted throughout the curriculum, across the whole school. They are also seen in school ethos and policies, assemblies, special events and cultural celebrations.
